Zeekr owners can now charge at RM1.20 per kWh at all DC Handal charging stations in Malaysia, extending a preferential rate previously limited to selected Zeekr Power x DC Handal locations.
The nationwide tariff is available through the ChargEV app after owners complete Zeekr’s onboarding process. Zeekr Malaysia said the change gives its community of more than 5,000 owners wider access to the special DC charging rate.
Owners need to download ChargEV, register an account and complete Zeekr’s onboarding form. The email address entered in the form must match the one used for the ChargEV account.
Zeekr said the preferential tariff should appear in ChargEV within 24 working hours after the onboarding form is submitted.
The expansion comes under Zeekr Power, the carmaker’s charging programme in Malaysia. The RM1.20/kWh rate was initially offered at participating Zeekr Power x DC Handal sites.
Zeekr Power currently covers eight locations nationwide, with five operating and three more due to open. Two newer sites are at Symphony Suites Hotel in Ipoh and C-Mart Kompleks Changlun, both with chargers rated at up to 240kW.
Zeekr Malaysia aims to establish 30 Zeekr Power charging stations nationwide over the next three years.
Its partnership with DC Handal also includes charging locations along key travel corridors, including the North-South Expressway. Zeekr said chargers in the programme can deliver up to 400kW, while selected future installations could support up to 640kW.
Zeekr Intelligent Technology Malaysia general manager Eddy Lu said widening the special rate was intended to improve fast-charging access as the customer base grows.
The company passed 5,000 cumulative vehicle deliveries in Malaysia earlier this month, less than two years after its local launch.
Zeekr said it will continue working with charge point operators to improve access to ultra-fast charging in Malaysia.
