An Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance has travelled 1,338km on a single charge in Poland, with rally driver Miko Marczyk at the wheel. Audi said the drive earned a Guinness World Record.
Marczyk set off at 1.55am on Sept 11. His route followed the Vistula through Krakow, Warsaw and Torun to Hel on the Baltic coast, then headed back south.
The drive took more than 45 hours and included regular traffic and rush-hour stretches. Audi reported energy consumption of 7.09kWh/100km.
The car has a 94.9kWh usable battery and a stated range of up to 777km under the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP).
Marczyk’s result exceeded that figure by 561km, though the record attempt was conducted with a sustained focus on efficiency.
Volkswagen Financial Services supported the attempt. Audi said Marczyk drove in average temperatures of 15°C, with the temperature falling to 7°C on one early-morning stretch.
