Hyundai Motor Malaysia has opened bookings for the Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N, giving local buyers a first shot at the brand’s full-fat electric N models.

The order books opened in conjunction with Penang Autoshow 2026, where the Ioniq 5 N is being shown at the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre. Estimated pricing starts at RM450,000 for the Ioniq 5 N and RM460,000 for the Ioniq 6 N.

Both models are understood to be offered on a built-to-order basis and imported from South Korea as CBU units.

Bookings are currently handled by selected Hyundai N authorised dealers, including Sime Darby Auto Hyundai for the Central region, Goh Brothers Motor for the Northern region and Heng Lian Enterprise for East Malaysia.

The two cars sit on Hyundai’s 800V E-GMP platform and use a dual-motor all-wheel-drive layout. Output is rated at up to 478kW, or 641hp, and 770Nm when N Grin Boost is activated.

Standard output and torque for both models are 448kW/601hp and 740Nm respectively.

The Ioniq 5 N does 0-100kph in a claimed 3.4 seconds, while the sleeker Ioniq 6 N cuts that to 3.2 seconds.

Both use an 84kWh battery. Reported WLTP range stands at up to 448km for the Ioniq 5 N and 487km for the Ioniq 6 N.

Hyundai has not announced final on-the-road pricing or confirmed customer delivery dates. Current reporting points to a second-quarter Malaysia launch.

The Ioniq 6 N was named “World Performance Car” at the 2026 World Car Awards, whilst the Ioniq 5 N won the same title in 2024.

Also on display at the Penang expo was the Ioniq 9 in RHD form. On the technical front, the Ioniq 9 is a well-equipped 3-row SUV with multiple powertrain options to suit different buyers.

The Long Range RWD variant delivers a maximum WLTP range of up to 620km, powered by a 110.3 kWh lithium-ion battery and a single 215 PS motor, while the Long Range AWD adds a 94 PS front motor for extra performance.

Those seeking the strongest performance can opt for the Performance AWD, which pairs dual 215 PS motors on both axles. Underpinning all variants is an 800V architecture that supports DC fast charging at up to 350 kW, enabling a 10-to-80% charge in as little as 24 minutes.
