GWM Malaysia has opened bookings for the Ora 5 HEV ahead of its November launch, with the compact hybrid SUV carrying an estimated price of RM115,000.
The model will also be locally assembled, adding another CKD hybrid to GWM’s Malaysian line-up.
The Ora 5 was first shown in Malaysia at KLIMS 2026 before appearing at subsequent dealer previews. It joins GWM’s growing electrified range alongside the Haval H6 HEV and Wey G9 Hi4 PHEV.
Power comes from the Hi2 hybrid system, combining a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor and two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission.
Combined output is 223 PS and 476 Nm, with 0–100 kph taking 7.7 seconds. GWM quotes WLTC fuel consumption of 4.4 litres per 100 km and total driving range of more than 1,100 km.
The Ora 5 measures 4,471 mm long, 1,833 mm wide and 1,641 mm tall, with a 2,720 mm wheelbase. Although it shares some visual cues with the Ora Good Cat, it is substantially larger.
Preview cars shown in Malaysia have featured 18-inch wheels, a 14.6-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, synthetic leather upholstery, ambient lighting and a 50W wireless charger.
Final pricing and Malaysian specifications are due at launch.
