Renault will unveil the E-Space Concept at the 2026 Paris Motor Show on Oct 12, previewing a possible future direction for electric family cars.
The 4.70-metre concept revives the Espace name more than four decades after the original arrived in 1984. Renault says the “E” refers to its E-Tech electrification branding, while “Space” points to the car’s focus on interior room.
Few technical details have been released so far. Renault has not disclosed the battery, motors, output or range, leaving the E-Space Concept primarily as a design study for now.
The car uses U-shaped lighting elements front and rear, with an illuminated Renault diamond integrated into the nose. Its body is finished in a dark shade Renault calls Black Rubé.
The E-Space Concept will share Renault’s Paris stand with several production EV developments, led by an updated Megane E-Tech electric.
The Megane gains a 67-kWh LFP battery with up to 500km of claimed range. Renault also says DC charging performance improves by 25%, cutting the 15-80% charging time to 24 minutes.
LFP chemistry is being rolled out more widely across Renault’s electric passenger-car range. After the Twingo and Megane, the Scenic and Renault 5 are next, followed by the Renault 4. Battery capacities include 27.5kWh for the Twingo, 37kWh for the Renault 5 and 67kWh for the Megane and Scenic.
Renault will also show the 5 Turbo 3E in engineering-prototype form. The rear-drive electric model uses two in-wheel motors producing 555hp, while a production version is planned.
Two further concepts will be on display. The Renault 8 Gordini Concept reinterprets the 1960s performance model as an electric two-seat coupé, while the Renault 4 JP4x4 Concept revisits the open-air leisure versions of the original Renault 4.
The Paris presentation will also include the new Trafic Van E-Tech electric and a panoramic glass-roof option for the Twingo E-Tech electric.
