Chery said it outsold every other Chinese automaker in the global SUV race last year, with SUV deliveries topping 2.31 million units in 2025.

The claim, announced in a Jan 24 statement, covered the group’s worldwide performance.

Two long-running nameplates did much of the heavy lifting.

Chery pointed to the Tiggo 7 as China’s leading exported A-segment petrol SUV for four consecutive years, adding that the model has now reached more than 100 countries and territories since launch.

The Tiggo 8 line, meanwhile, was said to have kept momentum in the mid-size class, taking the best-selling mid-size SUV spot among Chinese brands for 10 straight months during 2025.

Chery 1,700,940 +6% 64.64%
Luxeed 90,493 +56% 3.44%

Exeed 120,369 -15% 4.57%
Total Group 2,631,381 +8% 100.00%

The SUV push is part of a broader export story.

Chery reported full-year exports of more than 1.34 million vehicles, including over 244,928 units in December, and said the run set fresh highs on a monthly, annual and cumulative basis for a Chinese automaker.

On total volume, Chery Automobile Co. posted 2,631,381 units, up 8% year on year. That 2.63 million tally included Chery-branded vehicles (1.70 million), plus Jetour (622,590), Exeed (120,369), iCar/iCaur (96,989) and Luxeed (90,493). At group level, Chery cited 2,806,393 vehicles sold, which included its commercial vehicle brands like Karry.

Under global automotive group sales rankings for 2025, Chery Group is rated 11th worldwide, and it is aiming to lift volume to 3.2 million vehicles in 2026.

The push comes with a parallel tech rollout: Chery plans to fit its Lingxi Intelligent Cockpit across all major models by Q1 2026, then widen the reach of its Falcon driver-assistance system to over 35 models by year-end.
