Shell Malaysia has launched the Shell Recharge app, a dedicated platform designed to simplify how electric vehicle (EV) drivers find, use and pay for charging across the country. It replaces the ParkEasy app.
The Shell Recharge app, now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, links directly to Shell’s expanding Shell Recharge network, including its high-performance charging (HPC) corridors from North to South and East Coast to West Coast, as well as the Genting Highlands hub.
The move is aimed at giving EV owners more confidence to travel longer distances with easier access to fast, reliable charging.
Key functions include in-app payment via linked debit and credit cards, the ability to reserve a charger ahead of arrival, live session monitoring and a locator that shows nearby and available charge points.
Cross-border roaming support allows users to access Shell Recharge sites in both Malaysia and Singapore through a single app, catering to frequent regional travellers.
Shell Mobility & Convenience Malaysia general manager Seow Lee Ming said the app marks the next phase of Shell’s EV strategy, building on earlier investments in its HPC network and efforts to improve uptime and user experience.
She said the platform is intended to deliver a smoother, more seamless journey while reinforcing Shell’s role in supporting Malaysia’s energy transition and the growing EV community.
To mark the launch, Shell is offering a one-day promotional rate of RM1.11 per kWh today for charging at all Shell Recharge HPC sites nationwide, limited to users who activate and pay through the new app. Usual terms and conditions apply.
Existing ParkEasy users would need to download and register for a new account on the Shell app.
ParkEasy credits can continue to be used at any EV charging sites listed in the ParkEasy app. However, as more chargers are being migrated to the Shell app, users would need to make the switch to the new app before Nov 30.
