BYD has launched the 2027 Yuan UP Feichi Edition in China, adding a 501 km long-range version while standardising the electric SUV line-up on a 70 kW front motor.
The Yuan UP, sold in several overseas markets as the Atto 2, now comes in five variants priced from 74,800 yuan (RM45,500) to 104,800 yuan (RM63,800). A limited-time 5,000-yuan trade-in subsidy lowers the effective range to 69,800-99,800 yuan.
BYD Dynasty sales chief Lu Tian confirmed the Sept 17 launch on Weibo, highlighting the new 501 km version, Energetic Yellow and Oxygen Blue paint options, 17-inch low-drag alloy wheels and a redesigned two-spoke leather-finish steering wheel.
The 501 km figure is measured under the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC). These versions use a 51.13 kWh Blade lithium iron phosphate battery, joining existing 32 kWh and 45.12 kWh packs rated at 301 km and 401 km respectively.
The cheaper of the two 501 km variants lists at 94,800 yuan (RM57,700), or 89,800 yuan after the trade-in subsidy.
A notable change is the powertrain. All five Feichi Edition variants now use a 70 kW, 180 Nm front-mounted motor. Previous Yuan UP versions were available with both 70 kW and 130 kW motors.
Cabin changes include a column-mounted gear selector, an available 12.8-inch centre screen and BYD’s DiLink 100 infotainment system. Higher variants add equipment including front-seat heating and ventilation, 50W wireless charging and the God’s Eye C driver-assistance package.
There is no change to the Yuan UP’s overall size, with a 2,620 mm wheelbase and body measurements of 4,310 mm by 1,830 mm by 1,675 mm.
