Leapmotor used IAA Mobility 2025 to stage the world premiere of the B05 compact electric hatchback and to begin European sales of the B10 SUV.
The B10 starts from €29,900 (RM148,000), with deliveries tied to the show and availability across more than 30 countries, while the B05 takes aim at Europe’s core C-segment with a 4,430mm-long body, frameless doors and 19-inch wheels.
Reuters reported the B05 is slated for European deliveries from the second quarter of 2026 following a China launch in late 2025, and would be offered in six colours.
The wire also noted Stellantis’ 21% stake and exclusive rights to export and manufacture Leapmotor vehicles outside Greater China via a joint venture; Leapmotor’s European range slots in alongside the T03 city car (under €19,000), C10 (€36,000) and sub-€30,000 B10.
Chinese-market filings flesh out the B05’s technical picture.
Known domestically as the Lafa 5, the hatchback has a single 160 kW motor, optional roof-mounted LiDAR, curb weights between 1,665–1,715 kg and a top speed of 170kph.
Range options listed by China’s regulator are 515km and 605km (LFP batteries; local test cycle). The exterior dimensions match the Munich reveal at 4,430/1,880/1,520 mm with a 2,735 mm wheelbase.
In Munich, Leapmotor did not show the cabin, an unusual move for a global debut.
The car’s design cues such as the full-width rear light bar and standard 19-inch alloys indicated it is aimed at the MG4 and similar rivals.
The B05 would also ship to Australia. It is due in the second half of 2026 and would spawn an “Ultra” hot-hatch derivative pitched as a GTI rival.
The B05 shares its 2,735mm wheelbase with the B10, suggesting platform commonality, and this could mean the hatch might have the same screen layout as the B10.
The B10 launches in Europe on the new LEAP3.5 architecture, targets a five-star Euro NCAP rating, and offers two WLTP ranges: up to 361km (56.2 kWh) and up to 434km (67.1 kWh).
DC fast charging peaks at 168kW, enabling 30–80% in under 20 minutes.
Cabin tech includes a 14.6-inch 2.5K screen running LEAP OS 4.0 Plus, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto arriving via OTA.
The Munich debut signals Leapmotor’s twin-track approach: a value-priced SUV already on sale in Europe to build volume, and a style-led hatchback with China-verified specs, optional LiDAR and a 2026 European start to challenge mainstream EVs on design, tech and cost.
