Tyre launches tend to follow a formulaic playbook. In essence, most press releases tyre companies issue hit the same beats in roughly the same order.
That’s because all of them are aiming at the same end-user concerns such as noise, comfort, grip, efficiency and sustainability.
Inevitably, the messages converge into a similar structure and choice of superlatives. It isn’t that they’re using the same template, but rather that they’re all optimising for the same key selling points and stakeholder expectations.
Case in point is Bridgestone. Its Malaysian arm today anounced the launch of the new Turanza 6.
Bridgestone Tyre Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd said the tyre was made to deliver “exceptional noise reduction, ride comfort and wet-condition handling across both conventional and electric vehicles”.
The tyre, which succeeds the Turanza T005A, employs advanced “Enliten” technology to achieve an 8 per cent reduction in road noise, an 8 per cent increase in ride comfort and a 14 per cent improvement in wet-grip performance.
It claimed the optimised compound, tread pattern and tyre shape also enhance wear life and fuel or energy efficiency in line with consumer demand for sustainable mobility.
Engineered to be EV-ready, the Turanza 6 is said to have low rolling resistance to extend battery range and reinforced construction to withstand the higher weight and torque of electric vehicles, while its quieter operation complements the near-silent nature of EV powertrains.
The company’s proprietary Enliten technology enables bespoke performance tuning, allowing for seamless adaptation to evolving market requirements without compromising on core attributes.
Compared with its predecessor, raw-material usage during production has been reduced, leading to a 16 per cent decrease in CO2 emissions at the manufacturing stage.
Enhanced rolling resistance further contributes to a 13 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions per kilometre during its service life.
The Turanza 6 goes on sale in Malaysia today in wheel sizes ranging from 14 to 21 inches.
To mark the launch, Bridgestone authorised dealers would run a promotion from Aug 1-31, offering customers who buy four Turanza 6 tyres in a single transaction a limited-edition 2-in-1 convertible pillow blanket while stocks last.
