The e:HEV RS variant of the new HR-V was launched today, featuring Honda’s advanced 1.5-litre e:HEV powertrain that produces 131 PS/129hp and 253Nm of torque, and offering seamless transitions between EV, hybrid and engine drive modes.

Priced at RM143,900 on-the-road without insurance, the RS model is distinguished by a sporty RS Package that includes RS-embossed seats and performance-inspired styling enhancements.

Alongside the e:HEV RS, Honda Malaysia introduced three combustion-engine options for the refreshed model. As is usual with facelifts, there are no improvements in output and torque figures in the latest update to the third-generation HR-V.

The V variant, at RM137,900, employs a 1.5 litre VTEC turbocharged engine delivering 181 PS and 240 Nm of torque.

The E version, priced at RM130,900, carries the same turbocharged engine, while the entry-level S model, at RM115,900, is powered by a 1.5 litre DOHC i-VTEC engine offering 121 PS and 145 Nm, optimised for fuel efficiency and everyday practicality.

Exterior revisions across all versions include a redesigned front grille integrating full LED headlights with Active Cornering Light and a full-length rear LED taillight strip.

New 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels lend a bolder stance, while the e:HEV RS’s sportier aesthetic is further emphasised by red RS accents.

The cabin has been overhauled for enhanced comfort and usability.

All variants feature a floating eight-inch Display Audio Unit compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, supplemented by USB-C ports at the front and rear.

A redesigned centre console houses a wireless charging pad, and Honda’s signature Air Diffusion System delivers balanced airflow.

The RS model’s interior is distinguished by RS-embossed sporty seats upholstered in black fabric with red stitching.

Drivers can tailor their experience via three selectable drive modes —Econ, Normal and Sport — across all variants.

Safety equipment has been standardised with Honda Sensing on every model, and the hybrid gains Adaptive Driving Beam functionality.

Connectivity features, under the Honda Connect umbrella, have been extended to the S and E models to broaden access to real-time vehicle data and remote services.

Since its introduction in 2015, the HR-V has achieved over 170,000 sales in Malaysia and commands a 41 per cent share of the non-national B-segment SUV market.

The new generation aims to build on this success by combining Honda’s sporty DNA with enhanced practicality, connectivity and safety.

Speaking at the launch, Honda Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer Narushi Yazaki said the update represents “a bold evolution of Malaysia’s favourite SUV that blends sportiness, innovation and smart practicality to meet the needs of today’s SUV drivers” and marks “21 years of Honda hybrid leadership in Malaysia, a journey of innovation and commitment to sustainable mobility”.

The facelifted HR-V is available in five colours: Phoenix Orange Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Grey Metallic and Stellar Diamond Pearl.
