Denza Malaysia has announced that, effective today, the first scheduled maintenance for all Denza models will be set at 20,000 km or one year, whichever comes first. This marks a fourfold increase from the previous requirement of 5,000km or three months.
The move underscores Denza’s confidence in the durability of its vehicles, which benefit from advanced engineering and manufacturing standards inherited from the brand’s joint‑venture origins.
Denza was established in 2010 as a 50:50 partnership between BYD and Mercedes‑Benz, combining BYD’s electric‑vehicle technology with Mercedes‑Benz’s luxury heritage. Following restructurings in 2021 and 2024, Denza is now wholly owned by BYD.
By reducing the frequency of initial service visits, Denza aims to enhance customer convenience and allow owners to spend more time on the road. Early maintenance visits typically involve inspections of key systems such as braking, suspension and high‑voltage components. Extending this interval is expected to ease ownership costs and reinforce the brand’s reputation for reliability.
“This extension of our first scheduled maintenance interval is a testament to the exceptional quality and durability embedded in every Denza vehicle,” said BYD Malaysia managing director Eagle Zhao.
Since its first model launch in 2014, Denza has grown into a premium electric‑vehicle brand, offering SUVs, MPVs and sedans that prioritise quality, comfort and cutting‑edge technology. The Denza D9 plug‑in hybrid MPV, introduced in 2022, became China’s best‑selling MPV in 2023 and achieved the highest cumulative sales in its segment in 2024.
Denza vehicles are now available in several international markets, including Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong. The brand has recorded more than 300,000 orders worldwide to date. This revised maintenance schedule forms part of Denza’s broader strategy to set new benchmarks in sustainability, innovation and customer satisfaction.
In Malaysia, the fully imported D9 is an all-electric MPV with seven seats. It comes in two versions: the Advanced FWD is priced at RM259,000 while the Premium AWD goes for RM309,000.
