Porsche Malaysia, represented by Sime Darby Auto Performance, has officially introduced the all-electric Porsche Macan to the Malaysian market.
Prices start at RM430,000 for the base rear-wheel-drive Macan, with three additional variants available: the Macan 4 (RM 445,000), Macan 4S (RM 525,000), and Macan Turbo (RM 635,000).
This marks the first all-electric SUV in Porsche’s lineup, blending signature performance with a focus on everyday usability.
The new Macan, which debuted globally earlier this year in Singapore, is built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture featuring 800-volt technology and a 100 kWh battery, 95 kWh of which is usable.
Charging speeds range from 10% to 80% in about 21 minutes using a suitable fast charger.
The base Macan produces up to 265 kW (360 PS) with a WLTP range of up to 641 km. The all-wheel-drive Macan 4 offers 300 kW (408 PS) and a range of 612 km, while the Macan 4S delivers 380 kW (516 PS) with a 606 km range.
At the top of the lineup, the Macan Turbo provides 470 kW (639 PS), accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, and has a top speed of 260 km/h with a range of 590 km.
All versions feature regenerative braking capabilities, with the Macan Turbo achieving up to 240 kW of recuperation power.
Charging flexibility is enhanced with twin-bank charging technology for 400-volt stations and standard AC charging at up to 11 kW for home use.
The new Macan retains Porsche’s characteristic design elements, including short overhangs, a long wheelbase, and the iconic Porsche flyline.
Updated design features include split front lights, frameless doors, and a pronounced 3D light strip at the rear. The SUV measures 4,784 mm in length, 1,938 mm in width, and 1,623 mm in height, offering a sportier stance compared to its predecessor.
Interior refinements include a lower seating position, increased rear legroom, and enhanced luggage capacity.
The rear compartment offers up to 540 litres, with an additional 84-litre “frunk” under the bonnet.
The fully digital cockpit features a 12.6-inch curved display, a 10.9-inch central display, and a 10.9-inch passenger display, all powered by Porsche’s latest Android-based infotainment system.
The new Macan comes equipped with advanced driving technologies, including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with two-valve dampers for improved comfort and performance.
For the first time, rear-axle steering is offered, reducing the turning radius by one metre while enhancing stability at higher speeds.
The aerodynamics package includes Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA) with adaptive rear spoilers, air curtains, and a sealed underbody to achieve a drag coefficient of 0.25. These enhancements contribute to extended range and efficiency.
An optional off-road package increases ground clearance and approach angles, enhancing the Macan’s capability on rugged terrain. Practicality is further boosted with standard features like adaptive air suspension, Power Steering Plus, and a BOSE® Surround Sound System.
Porsche offers an extensive maintenance and warranty package, including an eight-year (or 160,000 km) warranty on the high-voltage battery. Customers can extend warranties up to 15 years.
Speaking at the launch, Sime Darby Auto Performance CEO Christopher Hunter said: “The Macan has long been a popular model since its debut, and we’re excited to begin delivering the all-new second-generation model to our customers. Customer response has been overwhelmingly positive, with strong demand.”
Porsche Asia Pacific regional head Remmy Ng said Malaysia has a key role to play in Southeast Asia’s EV transition, citing milestones such as the local assembly of the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé and new charging infrastructure initiatives.
The all-electric Macan is now available for order and delivery at Porsche Centres nationwide.
