Asean’s largest automated car parking system (ACPS) is not in a shopping mall. It’s in a high-rise residential complex, right here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Housing developer Beverly Group is set to install the ACPS at its Milla Residence project in Quartz Wangsa Maju.

The ACPS, developed by South Korean firm Samjung Tech, will include 2,358 parking bays and 21 car lifts, providing a cutting-edge solution to streamline parking operations and reduce environmental impact.

The collaboration involves Beverly Group, Samjung Tech, and local partner Parktech Solutions. A formal agreement was signed at the Milla Residence Sales Gallery by housing developer Beverly Group CEO Derick Lim, Samjung Tech CEO Choi Jong Wan, and Parktech Solutions managing director Yow Kai Yong.

The event was witnessed by Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and Maybank Commercial Banking managing director Jason Wong.

The ACPS allows users to park their vehicles at designated entry points, after which the automated system handles storage and retrieval.

This eliminates the need for drivers to navigate traditional parking structures, enhancing safety and convenience while minimizing the environmental impact.

Beverly Group said the system reduces idling emissions by up to 30% and saves space with its vertical design, in line with the group’s commitment to sustainable urban development.

Milla Residence is a serviced apartment development within the 16.5-acre Quartz Wangsa Maju enclave, strategically located near the Sri Rampai LRT station and the upcoming Rejang MRT station.

The project offers units ranging from 657 to 1,249 square feet, with layouts accommodating two to five bedrooms, targeting a diverse demographic from young professionals to multigenerational families.

Samjung Tech said the ACPS had undergone extensive testing to ensure smooth initial operations. The company’s engineers will remain on-site during the early stages, with ongoing monthly inspections to maintain performance.
