Lamborghini unveiled its first Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) Super SUV, the Urus SE, through a series of 12 exclusive events spanning three continents.

Over 4,000 customers and journalists attended these events, highlighting the global interest in this new model. The Urus SE’s debut tour started in China on April 24 at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, where over 400 journalists had the first look at the hybrid SUV. The tour continued in Shanghai, Bangkok, Tokyo, and Kuala Lumpur.

The United States, Lamborghini’s top sales market, hosted the Urus SE’s second debut on April 29 in New York’s Chelsea Arts District, followed by an event in Toronto, Canada.

In May, the Urus SE made its European debut at Italy’s Motor Valley Fest, celebrating Lamborghini’s automotive excellence. The tour then moved to the UK for Lamborghini Day UK, Dubai’s One & Only One Za’abeel, Germany’s Kesselhaus in Kolbermoor near Munich, and ended in France between Paris and the Côte d’Azur.

The Urus SE also hopped onto the digital platform, debuting on Roblox. This virtual launch allowed enthusiasts to customise their Urus SE through Studio Lamborghini Ad Personam’s selection of colours and options.

The Urus SE comes with a twin-turbo 4.0 V8 engine making 611hp and 800Nm of torque. Combined with the electric powertrain’s 189hp and 483Nm of torque, the system achieves a total output of 789hp and 950 Nm of torque. The sprint from 0 to 100kph is attained in 3.4 seconds.

The Urus SE gets a 25.9-kWh lithium-ion battery that’s good for 60km of electric range, reducing emissions by 80%. The Electric Drive mode is developed and calibrated for urban driving and enables the Urus SE to reach a top speed of over 130kph.

Beyond this speed, the V8 engine steps in automatically.

The Urus SE builds on the Urus S, enhancing comfort, performance, efficiency, emissions, and driving pleasure.

Public response to the Urus SE has been overwhelmingly positive, leading to an order bank covering nearly a year.

This is the company’s second PHEV after the Revuelto.

In Malaysia, the Urus SE is now open for booking, priced from RM1,028,000 (before taxes, duties and customisation.)
