The BMW i5 M60 xDrive that was previewed in Malaysia in May now has an official price.

BMW Group Malaysia today announced that the price of ownership is set at RM499,100 (on the road, without insurance). This is inclusive of a 5-year extended warranty and service package.

Extending the standard two-year warranty to five years will set customers back by RM20,300. The car is RM478,800, otherwise if you can live with a two-year warranty, first introduced in 2021.

For peace of mind, it’s better for prospective buyers to dig deeper into their pockets for the 5-year warranty, as going the cheaper route is simply gambling on some expensive parts in the car not breaking down beyond the two to five-year period of ownership.

Okay, back to the car at hand.

The i5 M60 xDrive promises a range of up to 516km (WLTP). Obviously driving style and traffic situation, among other factors, will determine how much distance one can go on a full battery charge.

It has two electric motor that drives all four wheels and produces an impressive 442 kW/601 hp, along with a maximum torque of 795 Nm.

The i5 M60 xDrive accelerates from 0 to 100kph in 3.8 seconds. Top speed is 230kph.

The space-saving high-voltage battery, located in the underbody, provides a battery capacity of 83.9 kwH.

BMW offers an 8-year or 160,000km battery warranty (whichever comes first) in keeping with standard practices of other electric car makers.

BMW says the Adaptive M Suspension Professional in the i5 M60 dramatically improves driving dynamics and comfort.

The car also has Active Roll Stabilisation, featuring Active Roll Comfort, that is said to enhance agility and driving precision and improves dynamic steering response by providing better roll support.

The new MAX RANGE function allows for an increase of up to 25% in range by limiting power and speed and deactivating comfort functions when required.

The car is equipped with the 22 kW AC charging, which provides greater flexibility for home and public charging.

Externally, the i5 M60 xDrive boasts the M performance kidney grille and BMW Iconic Glow package with an illuminated frame.

It features vertical LED strips in the headlights, slender LED taillights, and M Sport Pro parts, including a rear spoiler, Shadowline accents, and red high gloss brakes.

It retains 21-inch aerodynamic wheels and offers the BMW Curved Display with a 12.3-inch instrument panel and 14.9-inch touchscreen.

The Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System includes 18 speakers and a 655-watt amplifier.

The BMW Operating System 8.5 integrates the Intelligent Personal Assistant, BMW Maps, and Digital Key Plus. Driving Assistant Professional offers level 2 partial automation with Distance Control and Steering and Lane Control Assistant.
