Proton e.MAS distributor Pro-NET has expanded its footprint and is on course to operate more than 50 outlets by year-end, positioning it as Malaysia’s largest EV dealership network.

By the end of October, 45 sites will be open for sales, test drives, charging and aftersales, with the total rising to 50 by December 2025.

Coverage is being pushed into busier corridors first.

Locations under evaluation include Bangsar, Pandan Indah and Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur; Batu Caves, Kota Damansara, Cyberjaya and Kajang in Selangor; Skudai, Kluang and Johor Baru in Johor; plus Nibong Tebal and Batu Kawan in Penang.

The brief is simple: bring EV retail and service touchpoints closer to where people live and commute.

Interest in the upcoming e.MAS 5 remains strong ahead of its Oct 30 launch. Bookings have passed 4,000, and Pro-NET has issued a final call for its Early Bird Package, which closes at 5,000 bookings.

A RM99 booking secures a limited-edition Proton e.MAS Touch ’n Go NFC card preloaded with RM100 and a RM500 rebate on the booking fee for the first 5,000 successful registrants (T&Cs apply).

On exports, Mauritius is the latest market for Proton’s first EV, the e.MAS 7.

Proton International Corporation has introduced Prime and Premium variants at 1.69 million and 1.85 million Mauritian rupees respectively (about RM157,000 and RM172,000). Early units are fully imported from China and routed via Malaysia; exports would switch to Malaysian-assembled vehicles from Tanjung Malim once capacity is ready.

It is the model’s fourth export destination after Trinidad and Tobago, Nepal and Singapore.

Ten customer cars were handed over at the Port Louis launch. Specifications are the same as those offered in Malaysia.

The first 30 customers would receive a complimentary wallbox and an e.motion card, while Premium owners get five years/150,000 km of free servicing. Since its late-2024 debut, Proton has reported 6,500 e.MAS 7 deliveries in Malaysia and abroad.
