This is what is called a good haul. GWM Malaysia has managed to get 150 bookings for its Tank 500 hybrid SUV in the 24 hours following its unveiling on May 8.
It’s sold only as a hybrid-electric vehicle. The seven-seat Tank 500 combines a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor, delivering a total of 346PS/341hp and 648Nm of torque through a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The engine makes 244PS and 380Nm, supported by a 106PS, 268Nm electric motor; this powertrain balances efficiency with off-road capability and on-road refinement.
Priced at RM328 800 on-the-road, the Tank 500 is aimed at buyers seeking a premium SUV that offers rugged performance with executive-level comfort.
In response to the strong early demand, GWM Malaysia has extended its Limited Edition Premium Gift Set promotion — initially reserved for the first 100 buyers — to all customers who book their Tank 500 by May 18.
The Tank 500 is fully imported from Thailand.
