Aston Martin has unveiled the Valhalla Spider, an open-top plug-in hybrid (PHEV) supercar capable of reaching 350km/h with or without its roof.**

Based on the Valhalla Coupe introduced earlier this year, the Spider is Aston Martin’s first production mid-engined open-cockpit supercar.

It retains the Coupe’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, producing 828PS, supported by three electric motors delivering a further 251PS.

Combined output stands at 1,079PS and 1,100Nm of torque, delivered through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Two electric motors drive the front wheels, providing torque vectoring, while the third works alongside the V8 to power the rear axle.

The Spider comes with a removable fabric roof as standard, allowing owners to switch between open-top and enclosed driving. With the fabric roof fitted, maximum speed is restricted to 200kph.

An optional carbon-fibre hardtop allows the car to reach its electronically limited 350kph maximum speed. The same top speed is achievable with the roof removed entirely.

To manage airflow around the open cockpit, Aston Martin has developed a detachable wind deflector and redesigned the roof-mounted air intake, which sits 35mm higher than on the Coupe.

The wind deflector can be folded into three sections and stored in dedicated compartments within the door sills.

The Spider also receives revised active aerodynamic and stability control calibrations to maintain consistent handling with the roof fitted or removed.

Its carbon-fibre passenger structure is derived from the Coupe, while the signature upward-opening doors now feature frameless glass and revised mechanisms.

Inside, new carbon-fibre Touring Seats are standard, although buyers can choose the Coupe’s more supportive sports seats at no additional cost.

Aston Martin developed the Spider with input from Aston Martin Performance Technologies, which draws on expertise from the company’s Formula One programme.

The Valhalla Spider will make its global debut at the 2026 Concours at Wynn Las Vegas this weekend.
