Chery has unveiled the Tiggo X7 at its Oct 21 Global User Summit in Wuhu, China, introducing a new SUV family with a stronger emphasis on outdoor adventures.
The five-seat X7 is the first model in the Tiggo X series, combining everyday family practicality with styling and features aimed at tackling more demanding terrain.
Its boxy design features protective body cladding, pronounced wheel arches, chunky all-terrain tyres and raised ground clearance.
According to Thai automotive publication AutoStation, the Tiggo X7 has six terrain-specific driving modes covering snow, mud, sand, mountains, rocks and water wading. Its reported maximum towing capacity is 1,500kg.
Interior details remain limited, although Chery positions the X7 as a family SUV capable of handling both urban journeys and outdoor excursions.
Alongside it, Chery revealed the all-new Tiggo 7, which retains a more conventional family SUV character.
Exterior changes include revised bumpers, side skirts, alloy wheels and lighting, while the redesigned cabin features a landscape touchscreen and digital instruments.
Front seats gain heating, ventilation and massage functions, along with a deployable footrest.
The Tiggo 7 is expected to offer petrol-hybrid power, while the Super Hybrid plug-in hybrid gains scheduled charging to take advantage of cheaper off-peak electricity.
Chery has not confirmed the Tiggo X7’s powertrain, including whether a plug-in hybrid version will be offered.
