Jetour has demonstrated the amphibious capabilities of its G700 Ark Edition during an emergency navigation trial in Huangshan, China, showing how the plug-in hybrid SUV can travel across water rather than merely wade through it.
The demonstration, held during the 2026 Jetour Global Technology Experience Day, was followed by driving sessions for the international media.
Unlike the standard G700, which has a maximum water-wading depth of 900mm, the Ark Edition can float and propel itself across deeper water.
The difference lies in Jetour’s GAIA Ark Tech, which adds extensive waterproofing, intelligent navigation stability controls and a dedicated 800V water-propulsion system.
Working with the CEM-O Amphibious Range-Extender, the system redirects power to drive the vehicle through water while maintaining directional control.

Key electrical components also receive IP68-rated protection against water and dust ingress.
The standard G700 uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and two electric motors, producing a combined 665kW/904 PS and 1,135Nm. Its GAIA architecture provides four-wheel-drive capability for demanding off-road conditions.
The Ark Edition retains that foundation but adds amphibious equipment intended for flood rescue, outdoor exploration and other situations where conventional off-road vehicles cannot operate.
Jetour has previously demonstrated the Ark Edition’s capabilities during a Yangtze River crossing and rescue operations on the Min River.
The vehicle is more than a technology demonstrator. Jetour announced on Oct 5 that customer deliveries of the Ark Edition had begun in China.
