Omoda has unveiled the X concept, an off-road-oriented crossover planned with three electrified powertrains: battery-electric (BEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and conventional hybrid (HEV).
Revealed at the 2026 Chery International User Summit in Wuhu, China, on Oct 20, the Omoda X combines rugged SUV proportions with the brand’s latest design and cabin technology.
According to Omoda’s European announcements, the HEV will use front-wheel drive, while the BEV and PHEV are planned with front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.
The concept measures 4,654mm long, 1,920mm wide and 1,702mm tall, with a 2,700mm wheelbase.
Its angular bodywork develops the Cyber Mecha design language introduced on the Omoda 4, with pronounced wheel arches, broad shoulders and lightning-inspired lighting.
Off-road features include 200mm ground clearance, a proposed wading depth exceeding 700mm and a targeted towing capacity of 1,800kg.
Inside, a twin-wing dashboard and X-shaped floating centre console house a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and 13.2-inch central touchscreen. Physical controls remain for functions such as air conditioning and driving modes.
The concept also features an AI voice assistant designed to understand conversational instructions, alongside a personalised X-MODE setting that allows drivers to adjust vehicle responses.
An infrared thermal imaging night-vision system can detect potential hazards up to 90 metres ahead.
Other features include 39 storage compartments, a 75kg roof load capacity and an in-car karaoke system with four independent microphone zones.
