Perodua has started moving the QV-E to East Malaysia, with the first batch of its electric hatchback arriving in Kuching as the first port of call before more units are shipped onward to Sabah.
The shipment marks the start of the QV-E’s rollout for Sabah and Sarawak, bringing Perodua’s first EV closer to buyers outside Peninsular Malaysia.
The cars are expected to be displayed at selected East Malaysian showrooms from July 15, when customers will also be able to test drive the model and place bookings at participating outlets.
Perodua has not announced the full list of East Malaysian dealers involved, but customers have been advised to follow the company’s official channels for showroom and test-drive location updates.
Launched in December 2025, the Perodua QV-E got a revised pricing structure and an outright-purchase option in June after a slow start in the market.
Perodua attributed the move to higher localisation and operational optimisation, saying the savings were being passed to customers.
Analysts pointed to a fuller explanation: production ramp-up issues, limited buyer appetite for Battery as a Service and high effective ownership cost had weighed on early demand.
