Xpeng has begun the global roll-out of its XOS 5.8.0 over-the-air update, the company’s third major software release this year after versions 5.4.5 in January and 5.6.0 in May.
The update focuses on smarter driving assistance and a more personalised cabin experience across markets.
A new Human-Machine Co-Driving function makes Xpeng, by its account, the first automaker in Europe to offer the feature as standard.
When Lane Centring Control is engaged, the system now remains active even if the driver makes steering inputs, aiming for steadier, more natural assistance through merges and exits with reduced steering oscillation. Adaptive Cruise Control gains higher allowable cornering speeds and gentler deceleration for improved comfort.
For the cabin, a Pet Mode keeps unattended animals safe and comfortable for brief periods by locking doors, closing windows and maintaining temperature while pushing status alerts to the owner’s app with remote on/off control. Entertainment expands with KaraFun karaoke, downloadable from the in-car App Store.
Comfort and safety tweaks reflect global feedback. Air-conditioning minimum temperature drops to 16°C for tropical markets. The dashcam adds an Emergency Recording function. Charging is further “smartened” with more personalised logic.
Xpeng’s XCOMBO scenario engine now supports 21 languages and offers 700-plus modular “atomic” actions, letting users create and edit custom routines on the vehicle display or via the mobile app. Preset one-tap modes cover entertainment, safety, comfort and energy saving.
Xpeng’s international development of services Alex Tang said the release was part of the company’s user-driven development approach and efforts to promote convenient, intelligent mobility.
