SAIC Motor Malaysia Sdn Bhd has promoted its chief operating officer, Emory QiFeng, to the role of managing director.
He succeeds Steven Du, who has been reassigned to a new role within Chinese state-owned SAIC Motor.
In his new position, Qi will oversee all operations, including sales, marketing, and product strategy.
Having joined SAIC Motor Malaysia earlier this year, Qi brings over 25 years of experience in the global automotive sector.
Before joining SAIC Motor Malaysia, Qi held leadership roles at SAIC-Volkswagen Sales Co., Ltd, excelling in network planning, development, and after-sales strategy.
He had served in 2023 as global business director at SAIC Motor International Co. Ltd, where he contributed to the company’s international growth strategy.
Qi said he was excited to assume the new role, and would focus on expanding the company’s market presence and delivering a high-quality customer experience.
Qi aims to build on the momentum SAIC Motor Malaysia has achieved and strengthen the company’s position in the Malaysian automotive market.
