Taiwanese surveillance company Lilin has positioned its artifical intelligence-based licence plate recognition camera as a leading product in the market, emphasising its advanced capabilities and widespread demand.
Licence plate recognition technology is widely used in law enforcement, parking management, and access control, with accuracy and the ability to recognise a broad range of vehicle plates being critical factors.
Lilin has been at the forefront of licence plate recognition technology for years, even before the integration of artificial intelligence (AI).
The company has now enhanced its systems with AI to include vehicle recognition.
Its technology can accurately identify a wide variety of plates, including those from motorcycles, trucks, military and diplomatic vehicles, and test plates. It also recognizes vehicle types, colors, and brands, covering both domestic and imported vehicles.
Lilin’s Intelligent Traffic Solutions integrate licence plate and vehicle recognition with behaviour analysis, allowing the system to trigger events such as red-light violations and illegal turns.
The cameras include an internal access control list, enabling management based on time, vehicle type, or plate number. The recognition results can also be integrated into parking management systems and customised using Lilin’s open-source SDK.
A significant advantage of Lilin’s system is that all recognition, behaviour analysis, and event processing are performed directly within the camera, eliminating the need for additional computing resources and reducing setup costs.
This approach simplifies operations and maintenance while enhancing efficiency.
Beyond traffic applications, Lilin’s AI solutions support user-defined recognition models.
The company has been in the surveillance industry for over 40 years and provides AI surveillance solutions, compliant with cybersecurity standards.
Made in Taiwan, their products incorporate AIoT, edge computing, and security devices into unified systems applied in construction, transportation, ports, military, retail, and other sectors.
