Schneider Electric, in partnership with JusEV, has unveiled its latest 180kW EVlink Pro DC fast charger at the Plaza 33 office tower in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
This charging station also features two 22kW AC chargers. The DC charger, equipped with two front-mounted CCS2 guns, offers dynamic charging, while charging rates are set at RM1.60/kWh for DC and RM1/kWh for AC, with an additional RM20/hour idle fee to prevent charger hogging.
Note that charging station is not yet open to the public pending Energy Commission licensing.
The chargers can be accessed via the JusEV app, with payment options including credit/debit cards and selected e-wallets. JusEV is Schneider Electric’s first approved EV charger installer.
The EVlink Pro DC charger allows scalable power options from 120kW to 180kW and can simultaneously charge two vehicles to optimise power usage efficiently.
It integrates with Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure EV Charging Expert system, which manages the load to allocate energy intelligently from the building to the chargers, enhancing efficiency and uptime while preventing overloading issues.
During the official signing ceremony on April 30, 2024, representatives from both companies were present. Among them were JusEV managing director Jason Wong; Schneider Electric Malaysia president Eugene Quah; and Schneider Electric Malaysia vice president of residential & general distribution Francis Heng.
Schneider Electric’s first public EV charging station at Plaza 33, a certified “Green Building,” is part of their broader plan to install over 100 chargers across Malaysia by 2024, with 10% being DC fast chargers.
Schneider Electric, a French multinational, also offers a variety of AC chargers suitable for different settings such as offices, hotels, and supermarkets.
These include the EVlink Parking, EVlink Smart Wallbox for semi-public parking and corporate fleets, and the EVlink Wallbox for harsh environments in homes and private properties.
Additionally, Schneider Electric has launched Schneider Charge in Malaysia this year, a new smart residential EV charger that integrates with smart homes and is competitively priced.
Quah said 90% of EV charging is expected to occur in buildings, positioning the company to facilitate the widespread adoption of EVs with accessible and efficient charging solutions.
