Priced at RM 146,800, it comes with a comprehensive warranty package, including a 7-year vehicle warranty and an 8-year battery warranty.

The Omoda E5 is the first Chinese electric vehicle assembled in Malaysia.

In May last year, Chery Malaysia announced the appointment of Sime Darby Bhd’s subsidiary, Inokom Corporation Sdn Bhd, as its local assembler. The plant in Kulim, Kedah also assembles the Tiggo 8 Pro and combustion-engined Omoda 5.

According to Chery Malaysia executive vice president Leo Chen, the Omoda E5 is a leap towards green mobility and shows the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility.

The Omoda E5 distinguishes itself with advanced features like a 3-in-1 flat-wire motor, electronic control systems, and a 61kWh high-capacity lithium iron phosphate blade battery, offering a blend of efficiency, power, and eco-friendliness.

With a 430km range (WLTP), fast charging capabilities, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, it sets high standards for electric vehicles in Malaysia.

The AC charging rate is 9.9kW, while DC charging operates at 80kW. Fast DC charging can replenish the battery from 30% to 80% in just 28 minutes.

Safety features include Advanced Driver Assistance System 2.5 (ADAS 2.5), offering 17 functions to enhance driver safety and convenience. The vehicle also boasts a 24.6-inch curved 2K HD dual-screen, over 60 interior color options, a premium Sony sound system, and a wireless 50W charger with active cooling, providing a luxurious and technologically advanced driving experience.

With dimensions that promise ample space and comfort, and a robust performance in various durability tests, the Omoda E5 is designed to appeal to a broad range of consumers.

The Omoda E5 offers an expansive interior, designed for comfort and style. It features a dual-tone combination of blue and white-beige as well an all-black colour.

It measures 4420mm long and has a wheelbase of 2630mm, providing ample space for passengers and cargo.

The generous 483-litre boot capacity ensures plenty of room for belongings. Standing at a height of 1588mm with a ground clearance of 145mm, the Omoda E5 is claimed to excel in the water wading test and bottom scrapping conducted by Chery.

Owners of the new Omoda E5 will also receive complimentary charging facilities when they visit any Chery outlets nationwide.

The first 2000 bookings will enjoy complimentary wall box charger; V2L charger; and charging credits worth RM1,000 at EVC stations. The package of benefits are worth over RM11,000.

Chery Malaysia is the first car brand to partner with EVC for Omoda E5 owners to charge at all its 474 charging stations.

In addition, Maybank is offering a 2.08% interest rate when customers buy the Omoda E5 during the promotional period.
