Škoda Auto today unveiled the first silhouette and animation of its Vision O concept, offering a glimpse of its future estate car.
The teaser highlights sharp LED headlight contours, aerodynamic body curves, a steeply raked windscreen and a gently sloping roofline that evolve the brand’s Modern Solid design language.
The study is rooted in the principle of circularity and takes its “O” designation from this focus. It emphasises sustainability, recycling and reusability.
The full Vision O concept will make its public debut at the Munich Motor Show on Sept 8.
Vision O previews the next-generation all-electric Octavia Estate, due to enter production in 2027 and underpinned by Volkswagen Group’s forthcoming Scalable Systems Platform (SSP), which will replace the current MEB architecture and enable advanced software features and autonomous driving capabilities.
The Octavia Combi, currently in its fourth generation, remains Škoda’s top-selling estate model in many markets, with more than 3 million units of the modern-day Octavia Estate produced since 1998 and the original estate dating back to 1960.
Exterior designer Jounggeen Kim said the challenge was to transpose Škoda’s Modern Solid ethos into an estate silhouette: “My task was to apply the Modern Solid language to an estate car,” adding that the project drew inspiration from Czech architecture and earlier Škoda models such as the Yeti and Roomster.
Škoda Auto CEO Klaus Zellmer stated that Vision O will chart the future course of estate models by combining new technologies, sustainability and Škoda’s long-standing expertise in the segment, positioning the marque to remain a major player through this industry transition.
