Honda Malaysia announced today the appointment of Narushi Yazaki as its new managing director and chief executive officer, effective April 1.
Yazaki, who succeeds Hironobu Yoshimura, brings over 25 years of extensive experience with the company, Honda Malaysia said in a brief statement.
His career has spanned several key leadership roles across countries including Japan, Thailand and the United States. Prior to his new role at Honda Malaysia, he was working in corporate administration operations at Honda Motor Co., Ltd. in Tokyo.
Yazaki said he aims to build on the strong foundation established by his predecessors and further drive Honda Malaysia’s progress.
Yoshimura, who has led the company for the past three years, will assume a new position at Honda’s head office in Tokyo.
Honda Malaysia also said Yoshimura had maintained the company’s leading position in the non-national passenger vehicle segment for 11 consecutive years and steered the company through the challenges of a post-pandemic market.
Honda’s first electric vehicle for Malaysia will be launched this year under Yazaki’s watch. The e:N1 was previewed at KLIMS 2024 last December and again at the Honda media party in February.
