Mercedes-Benz Vans has unveiled plans for its next generation of electric vans, based on the modular Van Electric Architecture (VAN.EA), set to launch in 2026.
A teaser image of a luxury electric van, expected to debut in spring 2025, provides a glimpse into the company’s vision for upscale, electric personal and commercial vehicles.
VAN.EA is designed to support both private and commercial models, offering scalable configurations with multiple wheelbase lengths and varying battery capacities.
The platform allows for front- or all-wheel-drive options, catering to diverse use cases. Mercedes-Benz aims to distinguish its privately positioned luxury vans from premium commercial models, extending its portfolio to include high-end family vans, VIP shuttles, and spacious limousines.
The upcoming luxury van, a mid-size model tailored for personal use, is confirmed for the US market.
Mercedes-Benz has hinted at flexible interior appointments, ranging from a refined family hauler to an exclusive executive shuttle or a luxury limousine. Prototypes of the VAN.EA-based models have already been spotted undergoing testing, though heavily camouflaged.
