XPeng has launched its G9L flagship SUV in Europe at the Paris Motor Show, with prices in France starting at €74,990 (RM342,700) and plans for local production in Austria.
The Chinese carmaker said the G9L has completed initial production trials at Magna’s factory in Graz, where it is expected to become the fourth XPeng model manufactured in Europe.
The SUV will be offered with six- and seven-seat configurations, targeting both family and executive buyers.
Electric variants deliver up to 591 km of WLTP range, while an 800V electrical architecture and 5C charging technology allow a claimed 10–80% battery recharge in 11.7 minutes.
XPeng has not disclosed battery capacity or motor output in its European launch announcement.
Safety equipment includes nine airbags, automatic emergency braking operating at speeds of up to 150 kph and a stability assistance system designed to help maintain control following a tyre blowout.
The company said the G9L underwent three years of testing across 26 countries and regions, covering more than 6.74 million km.
Alongside the SUV, XPeng introduced its Next Generation Pilot (NGP) driving assistance system to European audiences through public test rides in Paris.
Powered by the company’s Vision-Language-Action (VLA) 2.0 technology and proprietary Turing AI chips, NGP is designed to negotiate complex road environments, including roundabouts, narrow streets, pedestrian crossings and traffic involving motorcycles.
XPeng said the system can retain up to 30 seconds of driving context and predict developments up to six seconds ahead.
The company is pursuing certification under UN Regulation No. 171, Series 02, which governs certain driver assistance functions. Certification has not yet been confirmed.
XPeng also announced plans to make its AI and vehicle engineering technologies available for collaboration with international automotive and technology partners.
Its European research and development operations already cover vehicle homologation, chassis calibration, charging integration and intelligent driving validation.
The company currently operates in 82 countries and regions worldwide, supported by eight research and development centres and six manufacturing facilities.
