Voyah has launched the Dream 9 in China, offering its flagship MPV with battery-electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains, an 800V electrical architecture and Huawei driver-assistance technology.
Six variants are offered across Ultra, Ultra+ and Lizun trim levels. Prices start at 419,900 yuan (RM255,600) for the Ultra PHEV and reach 529,900 yuan (RM322,500) for the Lizun BEV. The entry price is 10,000 yuan lower than the earlier pre-sale figure.
The seven-seat Dream 9 measures 5,325mm long and 1,998mm wide, with a 3,200mm wheelbase.
The battery-electric version uses a 120kWh CATL battery and dual motors producing a combined 475kW and 765Nm. Voyah quotes up to 701km of range under the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC), with a 20-80% charge taking 20 minutes.
The plug-in hybrid pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with front and rear electric motors. Combined output is 560kW and 910Nm, while its 65kWh battery provides up to 340km of CLTC electric range. Total petrol-electric range is rated at 1,500km. Its 5C charging system can take the battery from 20% to 80% in a claimed 12 minutes.
Chassis hardware includes three-chamber air suspension, electronically controlled variable dampers and rear-wheel steering of up to 10 degrees in either direction.
Huawei supplies the Qiankun ADS 5 driver-assistance system and HarmonySpace 6 cabin technology. The sensing package comprises 37 sensors, including an 896-channel main lidar and three solid-state lidar units.
For Malaysia, Volt Auto Malaysia plans to introduce the Dream 9 in the first quarter of 2027, with both BEV and PHEV versions on the cards. The first vehicles will arrive as completely built-up (CBU) imports.
Local assembly is planned later, although Volt Auto has not disclosed when completely knocked down (CKD) production will begin or where the Dream 9 will be assembled. Voyah is also set to establish its own Malaysian retail network separate from Dongfeng.
Malaysian buyers received an earlier look at Voyah’s luxury MPV offering when the previous Dream was displayed at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show in June.
Malaysia-specific variants, equipment and pricing for the Dream 9 have yet to be announced.
