Range Rover has confirmed the GT, a low-slung electric grand tourer that will become the fifth model in its line-up.

The newcomer breaks from the tall proportions of the Range Rover, Sport, Velar and Evoque.

Camouflaged prototypes show a gently falling roofline and a body sitting noticeably lower than the brand’s SUVs.

It is larger than the Velar, with proportions said to be closer to the Range Rover Sport, but will be sold as a separate model rather than replacing either vehicle.

Range Rover describes the GT as its most car-like model yet, while maintaining that it will retain all-terrain ability.

Final global road testing is under way. Power output, battery capacity, driving range, pricing and customer deliveries remain unconfirmed.

The GT will be the first all-electric Range Rover based on JLR’s Electrified Modular Architecture, or EMA.

It will initially be offered solely as a battery-electric vehicle, with a full hybrid planned later in its lifecycle. Production will take place at JLR’s Halewood plant in Britain alongside combustion-engined and hybrid vehicles.

Frameless doors lead to a cabin offered with either two individual rear seats or a three-seat bench. In the four-seat arrangement, a fixed centre console houses cupholders, wireless charging pads, an armrest and a touchscreen for climate and media functions.

A full-length glass roof is also visible in the official photographs.

The dashboard uses a central touchscreen paired with a slim driver display. A concealed air vent runs across the fascia, while woven textile trim hides the speakers.

Physical controls have not disappeared entirely, with steering-column stalks and several buttons retained, although the main climate settings sit within the central screen.

Range Rover claims class-leading second-row legroom despite the lower roofline. More specifications are due later in 2026.
