Jeremy Clarkson has told viewers he has prostate cancer in the closing episodes of Clarkson’s Farm season five, with the diagnosis unfolding at Diddly Squat, his Cotswolds farm featured in the Prime Video series.

The 66-year-old presenter, still a familiar name to motoring fans through Top Gear and The Grand Tour, disclosed the illness in scenes filmed last year.

Clarkson told farm manager Kaleb Cooper and land agent Charlie Ireland that a medical check-up in May led to a biopsy, which confirmed cancer.

He said the disease was aggressive but had been found early. Treatment later destroyed roughly 10% of his prostate — the portion where the cancer was found — using ultrasound, rather than surgical removal.

The news came as the farm was preparing for harvest, adding a grim turn to a season built around the usual mix of machinery, weather problems and rural red tape. Cooper and Ireland were shown reacting with shock as Clarkson explained what had happened.

The series closed with Clarkson back in hospital after he said treatment had gone “awry.” He summed up the uncertainty himself: “I’ll see you for Season 6, and if it isn’t, I won’t.”

Before the final episodes aired, Clarkson warned followers on Instagram that they would not be easy viewing.

The cancer diagnosis followed his 2024 heart procedure, carried out after doctors found problems with blocked arteries.
