Mazda has expanded the EZ-60/CX-6e programme across Asia, adding a LiDAR-equipped EZ-60 in China while preparing the CX-6e for sale in Thailand next month.
In China, joint venture Changan Mazda launched the EZ-60 LiDAR Edition on Sept 26.
The new version adds LiDAR to an assisted-driving suite that also includes three millimetre-wave radars, 11 high-definition cameras and 12 ultrasonic sensors.
The driver-assistance system uses an end-to-end architecture and Tencent lane-level navigation, supporting highway navigation assistance from 0–130 kph and urban navigation assistance at up to 80 kph.
On expressways, it can handle lane changes, obstacle avoidance and ramp entry or exit. In cities, the system is designed to deal with junctions, roadworks, narrow roads and other more complex traffic situations.
The EZ-60 forms the basis of the export-market CX-6e, Mazda’s second globally marketed collaborative battery-electric model after the Mazda6e.
In Thailand, the CX-6e is due to launch on Oct 7, 2026, with pre-registration already open and first customer deliveries scheduled during October. Mazda Thailand is accepting registrations from Sept 25 to Oct 6.
Mazda has also confirmed the CX-6e for Australia later in 2026.
