Gentari and the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) have launched what they describe as their first high-speed intercity EV charging hub at Petronas Penchala Link, Damansara-bound, giving Klang Valley drivers a quicker top-up point on a key urban highway stretch.
The Kuala Lumpur site upgrades an existing 24kW charger with a new 200kW DC fast charger carrying three nozzles.
That cuts charging time by about 20 minutes and can deliver more than 60% battery during a shorter stop.
It is the only 200kW charger within a 5km radius, which gives the location added weight for drivers moving between city and intercity routes.
Gentari and LLM are clearly trying to turn highway-linked stops into practical EV infrastructure rather than simple rest points, especially as more Malaysians start using battery-electric cars beyond short daily commutes.
Gentari said it now operates more than 610 EV charging points in Malaysia, while its Gentari Go app gives users access to over 9,000 roaming points across Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand through partner networks.
