Xiaomi says its YU7 GT completed a Nürburgring lap with no driver controlling it, finishing in 10:29.483.
The company said on Weibo it was a test of its driving system on the 20.83km German circuit.
Before this, the same SUV did a 7:34.931 lap with a test driver in May, which was widely reported as a strong Nürburgring benchmark for a performance SUV.
On the performance side, the YU7 GT uses a dual-motor setup with about 1,003 PS and 1,068 Nm of torque, enough to push it from 0–100kph in 2.92 seconds and up to 300kph.
It runs on a 101.7 kWh NMC battery, giving up to 705 km of CLTC range (564km WLTC estimate).
The system also supports 5C fast charging, so it can go from 10–80% in around 12 minutes, or add about 570 km of range in roughly 15 minutes under ideal conditions.
The YU7 GT is a high-performance SUV built to handle both road use and repeated track driving without overheating or losing stability.
The driverless lap has not been recognised as an official Nürburgring record, but it shows Xiaomi is still testing how far its assisted driving system can go in real conditions.
The YU7 GT sells in its home market from 389,900 yuan (RM239,000) to 429,900 yuan (RM264,000), depending on configuration.
