Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) has released a new batch of official images of the Luxeed V9, its first MPV, as the brand lines the model up for a launch expected in the first quarter of 2026.
The V9 is developed jointly by Chery and Huawei and targets “high-end family-oriented and executive consumers.”
CarNewsChina reports the V9 is tipped to sit in the 400,000 to 500,000 yuan price band (about US$57,400 to US$71,700), placing it in the same premium people-mover conversation as the Li Auto Mega, Zeekr 009 and Voyah Dreamer.
The big feature is safety tech that sounds like it belongs in a concept car. The V9 is said to be fitted with “helmet airbags” – described as an industry first.
In a crash, the seats automatically pull back into what is described as a safer position while the helmet airbag deploys together with the side airbags.
Design details from the images include diamond-shaped light elements within the headlamp clusters and a full-width rear light bar.
The tail-lamps also integrate blue indicator lights to signal when the advanced driving system is active, with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS and a HarmonyOS cockpit listed among the key tech highlights.
Inside, the spec list is expansive. The V9 runs a 2+2+3 layout and every variant are said to get electric sliding doors.
The second row features dual “zero-gravity” seats with leg rests that can recline and rotate 180 degrees. Other listed items include three front screens, a ceiling-mounted entertainment display, a refrigerator and an onboard oxygen generator.
Size-wise, it is a big MPV: 5,359mm long, 2,009mm wide and 1,879mm tall, riding on a 3,250mm wheelbase.
Power comes from Huawei’s “Snow Owl” range-extender system, using a 1.5-litre turbo engine (115kW) as the generator with dual electric motors.
CarNewsChina listed two CATL battery options: 37.017kWh LFP and 53.352kWh ternary lithium, with WLTC electric range figures of 158km, 210km or 223km, and a claimed 1,200km combined range. An 800V silicon-carbide high-voltage platform is also part of the package.
