Bosch Malaysia will be led by its first Malaysian managing director, Darren Chan Chon Hoe, from July 1.
Chan retains his roles as CEO and MD of Bosch Rexroth Malaysia and regional technology leader for industrial hydraulics at Bosch Rexroth Asean.
He succeeds Vijay Ratnaparkhe, regional president of Bosch in Southeast Asia, who steps back to focus on his regional duties after serving 11 months as interim MD of Bosch Malaysia.
With over 20 years’ experience across electronics, semiconductors, automotive and general industries in the region, Chan brings deep local insight to the role.
“Darren’s industry knowledge and strong connection to the local market make him the right person to lead Bosch Malaysia into its next chapter,” said Ratnaparkhe.
Chan said he intends to leverage Bosch’s century-long presence and 3,700-strong Malaysian workforce to enhance public–private collaboration and drive talent development, both critical to raising the nation’s gross national income per capita.
He also highlighted Bosch’s “glocal” advantage: a global footprint of roughly 490 subsidiaries in more than 60 countries that enables the company to “think globally and act locally.”
Bosch Malaysia achieved its highest-ever turnover in 2024, recording €1.466 billion (RM7.261 billion) in net sales, up nearly 31% year-on-year. Consolidated sales to third parties climbed 16% to €188 million (RM 929.5 million), underlining the firm’s robust growth and market confidence.
