Accidents happen. If your BMW car is involved in one, the chance to restore it to near-factory standard is assured.
That’s the promise from BMW Group Malaysia and its dealer Quill Automobiles.
The dealer today officially opened its body & paint workshop in Petaling Jaya that caters to both combustion-engined Bimmers, hybrids and pure electrics. Owners of damaged MINIs will have to look elsewhere as the workshop only caters to BMWs. The site has been opened since early last year.
BMW Group Malaysia also announced that the Quill body & paint centre is a training ground for technicians in its dealer network.
The new body & paint centre spans 15,625 square feet of workshop space, with an additional 6,397 square feet of offices, and is equipped with 10 repair bays, two spray booths and four preparation bays.
A dedicated mixing room and a Car-O-Liner frame-alignment system allow technicians to match manufacturer colour specifications and chassis tolerances with precision.
Eleven BMW-trained specialists use the latest approved tools and diagnostic equipment to undertake collision repair, paint restoration, wheel refurbishment and windscreen replacement.
Under BMW Group Malaysia’s “Relax. We Care.” premium ownership programme, customers benefit from a suite of smart services.
The BMW Service Promise, BMW Proactive Care and BMW ConnectedDrive deliver real-time vehicle diagnostics, technical support and seamless appointment management via the My BMW App and in-vehicle interface.
The BMW Service & Repair Inclusive (BSRI) package covers servicing for up to six years, while high-voltage battery warranty for electric vehicles extends to eight years. Twenty-four-hour roadside assistance provides further reassurance.
Quill Automobiles dealer principal Alex Tang said the investment in state-of-the-art repair systems and dedicated service bays would allow the centre to handle everything from minor touch-ups to complex restorations with “factory-grade precision” (it’s never a perfect match but close enough).
Specialised infrastructure and technician training ensure the workshop is fully prepared for electric vehicle repairs, including high-voltage battery systems, carbon-fibre components and advanced material handling.
For an electric car, technicians would need to disconnect the battery from the electrical and electronics systems to prevent damage and to also ensure the car is safe to work on. Other than this precaution, repair and restoration works for all types of BMW cars are similar.
In conjunction with the official opening, Quill hosted technical workshops for key partners, covering advanced repair techniques, colour-mixing processes and EV diagnostics.
The Quill Body & paint centre is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.30pm and on Saturday from 8.30am to 1.00pm. It is located at Lot 12, Jalan 51A/241, Seksyen 51A, 46100 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
