Singaporean EV charge point operator Charge+ has commissioned Teluk Intan’s first fast-charging station at Tai Chong Seafood in Perak.
The 60kW DC charger comes with two nozzles. For most EVs, charging from 10 to 80% would take no more than 30 mins.
Located five minutes from the town’s 140-year-old “Leaning Tower”, it also caters to motorists on the new West Coast Expressway and helps to reduce range anxiety.
The DC charger was free to use at its launch on May 24. From today until tomorrow, Charge+ is halving its usual rate to RM0.625 per kWh. A 22 kW Powerbee AC charger nearby offers charging at RM0.82 per kWh.
Among those who attended the DC charger opening were Koh Ling Xian representing Housing and local government minister Nga Kor Ming, Malaysia Electric Vehicle Owners Club (myEVOC) president Datuk Shahrol Azral and Tai Chong Seafood restaurateur Michael Seow.
Charge+ apps for iOS and Android phones can be downloaded to start using the DC charger.
Charge+ said it would install more chargers in Perak and neighbouring states before year-end.
