Here’s a quick update on the Gentari DC chargers at Gamuda Gardens we wrote about in March 2024.
They have gone live recently and are accessible through the Gentari Go and Jomcharge apps.
For smart owners, they can use the brand’s “Hello smart” app to activate and charge their cars via the “charging map” section of the software.
The solar-assisted EV charging hub in the township now serves Rawang and Sungai Buloh areas in northern Selangor.
The Petronas-owned clean energy solutions company has been rolling out chargers at a steady pace across Malaysia.
As of May, it has set up over 400 charging points spread across 105 locations nationwide, making EV charging more accessible and efficient for Malaysians. They comprised a selection of AC and DC chargers depending on location.
As mentioned in the earlier post, the 200kW Kempower DC chargers can cater to four cars at once. And power delivery is dynamic. The CCS2 nozzles are able to pump up to 200kW into electric cars that have an 800V architecture, while they can push up to 150kW for the more commonly found 400V vehicles.
Customers are billed at RM1.50 per kWh. There are also two 11kW AC chargers on site and they remain free to use for the public.
