Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has opened a branded EV charging hub at Bamboo Hills in Kuala Lumpur, working with local operator DC Handal. It is the brand’s sixth Mercedes-Benz-badged site in the country.
The hub comprises two 22kW AC chargers and sits at a busy dining and leisure spot in the city, targeting owners who want to top up while they eat or meet. The site was delivered with retail partner Hap Seng Star.
Mercedes-Benz said in a statement today that Bamboo Hills forms part of a wider plan to place chargers at high-traffic locations alongside homes and dealerships.
The company already works with JomCharge, ChargeEV, Gentari and P.UP; the Bamboo Hills site adds a branded option within that network.
DC Handal has eight other chargers at Bamboo Hills. Although the fee to use the two chargers were not disclosed, it’s expected to be the same 90 sen per kWh as the rest.
More locations are due by end-2025 as the firm grows coverage beyond the Klang Valley. Timelines were not disclosed, but the goal is to widen public access for owners who cannot always charge at home.
DC Handal, a Malaysian charging-infrastructure provider, is supplying the hardware and integration at Bamboo Hills.
The company said the tie-up would help deliver reliable, fast charging at venues people already visit.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced 11 battery-electric models locally, including the G 580 with EQ Technology, and is using dealer and third-party partnerships to make charging easier for its owners.
The company positions the Bamboo Hills site as one piece of a multi-channel approach that includes residential installs, retail outlets and selected lifestyle destinations.
