Kia Sales Malaysia has brought several global models to the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), led by the Kia EV4, EV5 and PV5, while also pushing a new TotalCare offer for Carnival and Sportage buyers.

The Kia booth at the auto show runs from June 12 to 21 and carries six models in all.

Four are global products being shown to Malaysian visitors: the EV4, EV5, PV5 and K4.

The Carnival and Sportage are also on site and available for test drives, giving the display a useful split between future product interest and cars customers can already buy. There are also FIFA World Cup games, Korean tourism content and an AI visual art installation, but the cars are the main draw.

The EV4 is the clearest sign of where Kia’s electric range is heading. Built on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), it uses a front-mounted motor rated at 150kW and 283Nm. Kia lists an 81.4kWh battery, up to 612km on the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) cycle and a 170kph top speed.

With a 350kW direct current (DC) charger, the EV4 can go from 10% to 80% in as little as 29 minutes. It also gets Kia’s Integrated Panoramic Display and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, which allows external electrical devices to be powered from the car.

The EV5 takes the electric SUV route. Also based on E-GMP, it offers up to 230kW and 480Nm, depending on variant, with a 0-100kph time of 6.1 seconds and up to 540km of WLTP range. DC charging is rated at up to 141kW. Equipment mentioned by Kia includes dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless connectivity, premium audio options, fingerprint authentication and V2L.

Then there is the PV5, Kia’s more unusual KLIMS entry.

Built on the E-GMP.S Platform Beyond Vehicle architecture, the PV5 is designed for commercial, logistics and lifestyle use, not just private family transport.

The PV5 Passenger uses a 120kW front motor and supports V2L and Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) functions. Kia is clearly testing local reaction to a van-like electric vehicle that could suit fleets, shuttle services and business users.

For buyers who still want a conventional car, the K4 makes its first Malaysian appearance in GT-Line form.

It is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 193PS and 265Nm, matched to a chassis using MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link rear setup.

The cabin gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 5-inch climate display and 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control and ventilated front seats.

The available-now models are the Carnival and Sportage.

The Carnival comes in 7-, 8- and 11-seat layouts, with a diesel engine producing 202PS and 440Nm. Kia claims more than 900km of WLTP range from a full tank.

The long-wheelbase Sportage is offered with 2.0-litre naturally aspirated and 1.6-litre turbo engines, paired with six-speed automatic and eight-speed dual-clutch transmissions respectively.

The other big KLIMS push is Kia TotalCare.

Customers who book an eligible Kia from June 1 to 22 and register by Aug 31 get an eight-year/240,000km warranty, up to eight service milestones, eight complimentary tyres, an RM8,000 cash rebate and first-year insurance support.

The package applies to all Sportage variants and the 7- and 8-seat Carnival.

Kia is also running a prize campaign for bookings made from June 1 to 22 and registered by June 30, with trips to Seoul and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 1TB phones on offer.

No Malaysian launch timing or pricing for the EV4, EV5, PV5 or K4 was announced. Still, the KLIMS display gives a useful early look at the EVs and new-format vehicles Kia could bring here next.
