Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX drivers in the United States can now use over 23,500 Tesla Superchargers, thanks to Honda’s first approved NACS-CCS DC fast-charging adapter.
Tested for performance and compatibility with both models, the adapter enables reliable charging at any NACS DC fast-charging point.
“Planning a road trip just got a lot easier for our Honda and Acura EV owners with access to the Tesla Supercharger network,” said American Honda Motor Co assistant vice president of sustainability & business development Ryan Harty.
“Combined with other growing charging networks, Honda and Acura EV drivers now have added peace of mind with a wider range of dependable DC fast-charging options nationwide.”
The Honda-approved adapter is available from authorised Honda and Acura dealerships and online via the Honda DreamShop, priced at US$225 (RM950).
Honda recommends using only approved adapters at Tesla Superchargers; any damage resulting from unapproved adapters may fall outside vehicle warranty coverage.
Owners can locate authorised Superchargers through the in-vehicle Google Maps built-in feature. While the Tesla app is currently required to initiate charging, HondaLink and Acura EV app integration — and plug-and-charge functionality — are in development.
As part of its wider charging strategy, Honda plans to offer about 100,000 DC fast-charge points across North America by 2030.
This network will comprise the new IONNA DC network, Tesla Superchargers, EVgo stations and other open charging providers, aiming to ensure comprehensive coverage for Honda and Acura EV customers.
