Honda has released a teaser of its next-generation Avancier, a large hybrid SUV expected to spearhead the Japanese carmaker’s expansion into the upper end of the Southeast Asian market.
The short video, published today, reveals a wagon-like silhouette, slim front lighting and a distinctive rear light signature. The Avancier is expected to feature three rows of seats, positioning it above the CR-V.
The teaser also carries Honda Hybrid branding, pointing to the introduction of the company’s next-generation petrol-electric powertrain.
Announced in October, Honda Hybrid builds on the existing two-motor e:HEV system with improvements to engine efficiency, a smaller drive unit and revised control technology. It will progressively succeed the current technology in new-generation models from 2027.
Honda plans to introduce 15 models using the new system globally by March 2030, primarily in North America.
The Avancier is being developed for international markets, with Southeast Asia expected to be a key destination.
Philippine automotive publication AutoIndustriya reported in June, citing an industry insider, that production would begin in Thailand in early 2027, initially serving the domestic market.
Honda Australia has also opened an official webpage inviting customers to register their interest ahead of the vehicle’s unveiling.
The Avancier name dates back to a Japan-market station wagon introduced in 1999. Honda subsequently used the badge for a large five-seat SUV in China.
