Porsche is introducing a new generation of its Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system with up to five times the computing power of its predecessor, bringing faster operation and additional digital functions to four model lines.
The upgraded system will be introduced progressively in newly produced 911, Taycan, Panamera and Cayenne models, extending technology first introduced with the fully electric Cayenne.
At its core is a new system-on-chip architecture designed to reduce start-up and application loading times while allowing multiple apps to run simultaneously. Applications can also remain active in the background for quicker access.
The hardware supports Porsche Digital Interaction, a redesigned interface featuring five selectable themes, configurable widgets and a rotatable 3D representation of the vehicle in its actual exterior colour.
Drivers can use the virtual vehicle to access selected settings and functions directly.
Another addition is an AI-powered Voice Pilot built around a large language model. It can interpret natural speech, understand multi-step instructions and respond to follow-up questions.
Voice commands can control navigation, selected vehicle functions, entertainment and compatible applications.
Navigation Plus gains a 3D map display, online mapping and real-time traffic information. For fully electric models, the Porsche Charging Planner incorporates charging stops and battery preconditioning into route planning.
Smartphone integration is also expanded, with supported markets gaining EV routing that takes battery preconditioning into account and navigation maps displayed in the instrument cluster.
The Porsche App Center allows drivers to download and update third-party applications, including streaming, navigation, parking and charging services.
Apple Music is now available directly through the App Center, with Dolby Atmos spatial audio supported when paired with compatible Bose or Burmester sound systems.
The new hardware also supports over-the-air software updates, allowing Porsche to introduce selected features and improvements after vehicle delivery.
Availability will depend on the market, model, production date and equipment specification.
