Tesla’s Cybercab has arrived in Malaysia for a four-stop exhibition tour, beginning at Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur today.
The two-seat autonomous electric vehicle is on public display until Nov 1, with viewing hours from 10am to 10pm at the mall’s ground-floor Centre Court area.
Visitors can see the Cybercab up close but are not permitted to enter the vehicle or sit inside its cabin.
First unveiled in 2024, the Cybercab was developed as a purpose-built robotaxi without a steering wheel, accelerator or brake pedals.
The gold-coloured vehicle features butterfly doors, seating for two and a central touchscreen for passenger controls. It also has no conventional side mirrors or rear windscreen.
The Malaysian exhibit is reportedly the only Cybercab undertaking a wider Asian tour.
Tesla began producing the Cybercab at its Gigafactory Texas facility earlier this year. The company introduced Cybercab rides in limited areas of Austin in September, although the Malaysian exhibition does not involve passenger rides or a local robotaxi service.
Following Mid Valley, the Cybercab will appear at Sunway Square Mall in Selangor from Nov 3–9, Pavilion Damansara Heights in Kuala Lumpur from Nov 10–11 and Gurney Plaza in Penang from Nov 13–22.
Tesla sales staff are conducting 15-minute guided walkthroughs during the exhibition.
Visitors who register for a walkthrough or complete a test drive in the Model 3, Model Y or Model Y L are eligible for a Cybercab mystery gift, subject to availability.
