The third-generation Audi Q7 has become the first production vehicle to achieve a perfect 100% score in Euro NCAP’s Post-Crash Safety assessment, alongside an overall five-star safety rating.
The assessment examines how vehicles support emergency response after an accident, including automatic alerts, access to occupants and information available to rescue personnel.
The Q7 earned full marks for rescue documentation, post-crash intervention and occupant extraction.
Its Audi connect emergency call system can automatically contact emergency services following a serious collision, providing information about the vehicle, occupants and impact.
A multicollision braking system can also bring the SUV to a standstill after an initial impact, helping prevent further collisions. The parking brake is then applied and hazard lights activated.
Euro NCAP also assessed provisions for unlocking doors, accessing the cabin and releasing seatbelts following a crash.
The vehicle tested was a left-hand-drive Q7 TDI quattro diesel producing 220kW.
However, Euro NCAP confirmed that its rating also applies to other Q7 variants, including the 290kW and 360kW TFSI eHybrid plug-in hybrids, in both left- and right-hand-drive configurations.
The Q7 achieved 88% for crash protection, 77% for crash avoidance and 72% for safe driving under Euro NCAP’s 2026 assessment protocol.
